One of the key tasks of the Digital Petroleum Laboratory at the initial stage of development is:

Development of engineering software for interpreting the results of Well Testing for complex completions wells. The developed software make it possible to interpret the data with the determination of reservoir characteristics and the geometry of the effective inflow into the well, applicable in the conditions of short-term and long-term testing.
Software development is carried out by a team of professionals, consisting of highly qualified specialists in the field of oil and gas field development, with significant experience in the industry, as well as specialists in the field of programming. Specialists of the Digital Petroleum Laboratory have academic degrees, inventions and publications. Team members have significant experience in scientific and technical support for drilling and construction of wells with complex completions (horizontal wells with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing and multilateral wells).
Summary of the innovation project
The software we develop aims to solve the following problems:
All software systems that exist today make it possible to interpret well testing data and determine reservoir and well parameters only when choosing a period of the constant derivative on the diagnostic graph, which shows the beginning of radial fluid filtration during a non-stationary change of pressure in the well. However, the achievement of radial fluid filtration requires long testing, during which the well is firstly worked out for a long time in the modes for gas/oil wells, accompanied by the burning of all produced gas/oil) and then stopped for a long time. Registration of the pressure build up curve accompanies by a loss of gas or oil production.
The testing duration of a production well by the pressure build-up method to achieve a radial flow regime and subsequent obtaining a constant derivative on the diagnostic plot during the interpretation of the section can reach several years (with a reservoir permeability of less than 1 mD).
Modern software packages allow to determine the parameters only for "simple" vertical and horizontal wells. In the case of wells with complex completions (multilateral wells, horizontal wells with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing), none of the currently available software packages for interpreting the results of well testing can determine the actual fracture parameters (length, height, etc. of hydraulic fracturing), and most importantly, it does not allow to determine which fractures really work.
The developed software allows to interpret the data of well testing of wells with complex completions with the determination of reservoir characteristics and the geometry of the effective inflow into the well, applicable in the conditions of short-term and long-term testing.
The uniqueness of the developed product
The technology makes it possible to determine reservoir parameters not from the period of the constant derivative on the diagnostic plot, but from the early pre-radial filtration regimes
The development product allows to reduce several times the duration of well testing, loss of gas and oil during testing without losing the quality of interpretation
Innovative of product is: the ability to determine reservoir parameters for wells with complex completions, including actual fracture parameters
